First, the Miccosukee Tribe lost an estimated $5.3 million as several of its own employees pulled off an elaborate embezzlement scheme over more than four years. Then, its insurance company denied coverage for the lost money, saying the tribe waited too long to file the claim. Perhaps the movie rights are worth even more.
